You will find information about Málaga city in www.malagaturismo.com, and about Málaga region and Costa del Sol in www.visitcostadelsol.com.

The celebration of Holy Week in Málaga is one of the most important festivals in Andalusia. This year, the main acts of this celebration start on April 13 and finish on April 20. Nevertheless, first activities relating Holy Week in the street start on Friday 11. Visiting Málaga these days is therefore a good option.

The Holy Week is the most baroque and the most typically Andalusian celebration of all. During these days, our city becomes an enormous stage upon which its entire populace comes together to remember the Passion of Christ. In the candlelight, amidst the gleam of gold and silver and the aroma of incense and orange blossom, the huge processional ‘tronos’, veritable moving altarpieces, paint a truly unforgettable picture. More information on the history and programme of our Holy Week can be found here.
