Cipriano Escalante Sánchez
I work on numerical methods for partial differential equations, applied to geophysical flows: shallow water, multilayer models, non-hydrostatic pressure, tsunamis and granular avalanches. I design high-order and well-balanced schemes; GPU implementation.
What I work on
- Numerical analysis of partial differential equations
- Balance laws and non-conservative hyperbolic systems
- Shallow water models and geophysical flows
- Multilayer models and non-hydrostatic pressure
- High-order and well-balanced schemes
- Finite volume, finite difference and discontinuous Galerkin methods
- Efficient GPU implementation
Group
I work within EDANYA, at the University of Málaga. The group builds models and codes to simulate geophysical flows and assess natural hazards, among them the HySEA family, used in tsunami warning centres.
