The Global Tsunami Model (GTM) association has been founded!!!
Vision & Goals
The Global Tsunami Model (GTM) Network aims to assess and provide community-based standards, good practices and guidelines for Probabilistic Tsunami Hazard and Risk Analysis (PTHA and PTRA)
The GTM overall vision and goals are to collaboratively achieve a thorough understanding of tsunami hazard and risk, together with the processes that drive them.
About Us
The GTM is presently a self-convened group of tsunami scientists affiliated to research, academic and private organizations around the world to focus efforts and provide coordinate action for tsunami hazard and risk assessment.
Stakeholders
The GTM strives to contribute to Priority 1 of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk reduction 2015-2030: "Understanding Disaster Risk". As such, the process of establishing GTM has been endorsed by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR, formerly UNISDR) and by the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR)
